Preservation Project
About
THE
PARKSIDE
Built in the winter of 1912 and
dedicated in the spring of 1913,
201 West Spring Street in the heart of Titusville
proudly served as a full service YMCA for over 100 years.
Complete with a diving pool and gymnasium,
this building touched the lives of nearly
every young person in Titusville.
In the year 2014 the building was vacated
in favor of a new facility and a rapid decline in condition began.
In the Summer of 2020 the building was purchased by
preservationist and musician Nathaniel Licht
who saw the potential in the property
and who feared it would be demolished.
With the help of a few local volunteers, and skilled laborers,
a long and arduous restoration/preservation began.
Years of dated renovations were stripped away
to reveal the building's original architectural grandeur.
Fall of 2023 welcomed the "Parkside Pockets:"
a unique assortment of artisans housed
under the former walking track in the gymnasium.
While the project continues,
two very unique portions of the building are
ready for your special event.
The gymnasium has been turned into
the multi purpose "ball-room,"
a space which can include state of the art
sound and lighting as well as
one of a kind facilities for your guests.
The former lobby, now known as the "Walker Room"
or "The Parlor" is perfect for intimate gatherings
and private parties.
We now offer in-house catering and
work closely with the
BEST LOCAL food, liquor, and entertainment vendors to
ensure that your event is memorable.
We hope you'll consider booking your special gathering
in this HISTORIC and UNIQUE setting!
